Design is always changing, and with tech and design increasingly aligning, we're arguably heading to the most radical period of change in design history. How radical will the design landscape of the future be, then?
In summer 2016, I had a pleasure to become a member of the architectural team during the summer design workshops in Shizuoka (Japan). The project was focused on redesigning and the revitalisation of the 500 years old, traditional house in Hamamatsu. As the team leader, I was responsible for measuring existing structure and creating 3d model in BIM technology to present the final design to the local community and the owners of the house. The design in itself was aiming to rejuvenate the old culture of Japan, its traditions, religion and local habits. Moreover, the project was redesigning the building into the museum of local artefacts.
